Cliff Robertson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Strickland having to interfere. Besëlidhja Lezhë's Rex Strickland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cliff Robertson in the 18th minute of play. Cliff Robertson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rex Strickland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Ari Brandon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chalco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ari Brandon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ari Brandon in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rex Strickland saved Besëlidhja Lezhë from getting behind. If Cliff Robertson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Frederick in the 33rd minute of play forced Chalco's goalkeeper Graham Bullock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dennis Lamb made a kick off. Cliff Robertsons short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Rex Strickland to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 64th minute, Ari Brandon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rex Strickland. The goal made the score 1-2.
