Ricky Crews showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 21st minute, Deon Hawthorne made a precise shot to the right of Shawn Chavez. Riverside's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 24 minutes into the game, Van Mabry was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rocky Ford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Riverside the free kick. The supporters of Riverside booed when Rocky Ford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Van Mabry didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevin Kirkpatrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cason Cedillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Cason Cedillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Riverside's Shawn Chavez got control of the ball when Deon Hawthorne tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Rocky Ford's Deon Hawthorne dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 40th minute, Ricky Crews fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shawn Chavez, passed just outside the right post. In the last second Shawn Chavez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ricky Crews in the 42ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The supporters of Rocky Ford booed when Riverside was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fletcher Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th play minute Deon Hawthorne came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Shawn Chavez. 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deon Hawthorne to make the kick off. After 55 minutes of play, Rocky Ford's Deon Hawthorne made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shawn Chavez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute, Charles Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Rocky Ford's Benjamin Beach got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deon Hawthorne in the 64th minute of play forced Riverside's goalkeeper Shawn Chavez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Derrick Goldstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Jerry Saunders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Ricky Crews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Riverside's Cason Cedillo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute, Nathaniel Randolph sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Riverside's Shawn Chavez didn't even have to move. After 74 played minutes Riverside got a freekick which was hit by Abdul Cora. Rocky Ford's Deon Hawthorne got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 77th match minute, Riverside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cason Cedillo to maneuver through the defense. Jerry Saunders charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Riverside's goalkeeper Shawn Chavez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, Deon Hawthorne notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Riverside's Shawn Chavez. Shawn Chavez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Deon Hawthorne in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shawn Chavez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roderick Burnett in the 97th minute of play forced Riverside's goalkeeper Shawn Chavez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Cason Cedillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riverside's supporters rose to their feet, but Cason Cedillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Kirkpatrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rocky Ford had played much better football throughout.
