The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Diego Rector made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ari Brandon in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Ari Brandon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cliff Robertson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. When the match had been going on for 68 minutes, Chalco's Donnie Hilliard got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Diego Rector. Chalco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
