A collision led to Cross City FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Ignacio Nash hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, Cason Cedillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jesse Cody, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Derrick Goldstein got free with Jesse Cody in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Terrence Conway hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Derrick Goldstein blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jesse Cody having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cason Cedillo in the 24th minute of play forced Cross City FC's goalkeeper Jesse Cody to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, D.J. Veltman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cross City FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Cross City FC's Jesse Cody played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cason Cedillo in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Daren Ezell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cross City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Riverside the free kick. After 33 played minutes Cross City FC got a freekick which was hit by Daren Ezell. In the 39th minute Darren Pham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shawn Chavez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesse Cody took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cason Cedillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cason Cedillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cason Cedillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jesse Cody made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derrick Goldstein in the 55th minute of play. Shawn Chavez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Pham, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 65th minute Derrick Goldstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse Cody saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cason Cedillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cross City FC's Jesse Cody played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derrick Goldstein in the 71st minute of play. Derrick Goldstein struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Jesse Cody didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riverside. 77 minutes into the match, Riverside's goalkeeper Shawn Chavez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by D.J. Veltman. If Cason Cedillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darren Pham might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shawn Chavez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darren Pham ran back to his position shaking his head. After 88 minutes, Jerry Saunders mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riverside and the Cross City FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jerry Saunders kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. When Cross City FC's Darren Pham in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Riverside's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Riverside had won after a very even match.
