After a defensive mix-up in Chalco's zone, Deon Hawthorne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Graham Bullock came out of the goal and Deon Hawthorne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Graham Bullock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricky Crews, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Graham Bullock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deon Hawthorne in the 7th minute of play. Antoine Bright kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Ricky Crews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graham Bullock having to interfere. In the 21st minute Ricky Crews shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Graham Bullock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Ricky Crews notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chalco's Graham Bullock. Graham Bullock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Deon Hawthorne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Graham Bullock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricky Crews struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Graham Bullock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rocky Ford. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antoine Bright during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rocky Ford booed when Chalco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoine Bright didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donnie Hilliard kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Rocky Ford's Nathaniel Randolph broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Cliff Robertson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin Kirkpatrick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ari Brandon's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After the first half Rocky Ford were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Graham Bullock came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Rocky Ford's Ricky Crews. But to his dismay, Ricky Crews quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Fred Kohler kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Roderick Burnett hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Cliff Robertson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Ari Brandon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kevin Kirkpatrick was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Graham Bullock was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Deon Hawthorne capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Deon Hawthorne really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After 77 played minutes Rocky Ford got a freekick which was hit by Roderick Burnett. Cliff Robertson struck a weak shot in the 78th minute.
