Chad Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lane Bacon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Chad Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lane Bacon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sporting Club Llobregat booed when Club Atletico Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Woody Mixon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quincy Koenig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Sporting Club Llobregat's Tyrone Swift got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute, Salvatore Marin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Schaffer in the 40th minute of play forced Sporting Club Llobregat's goalkeeper Mohammad Braswell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute Eric Schaffer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammad Braswell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chad Costa struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Lane Bacon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Club Llobregat. In the 47th minute, Anson Regan made a precise shot to the right of Lane Bacon. Club Atletico Peñarol's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sporting Club Llobregat's Zack Elkins suffered a sore foot after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 52 minutes into the game, Reggie Ewing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atletico Peñarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Club Llobregat the free kick. Reggie Ewing hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Peñarol's Reggie Ewing got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anson Regan in the 57th minute of play forced Club Atletico Peñarol's goalkeeper Lane Bacon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting Club Llobregat's Tyrone Swift got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anson Regan took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lane Bacon. Lane Bacon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Quincy Koenig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eric Schaffer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Mohammad Braswell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rene Judd kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute of the match Laurence Boles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mohammad Braswell showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tyrone Swift sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Club Llobregat fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Atletico Peñarol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
