Pelé & Cosmos MZS's Oren Nugent played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Gates in the 11th minute of play. 邓博源's late challenge caught a Phoenixsun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 邓博源 helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th minute, 邓博源 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Pelé & Cosmos MZS's 邓博源 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ron Pina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Darin Bruner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Oren Nugent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mitch Bates scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ron Pina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oren Nugent made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosario Gates in the 35th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rosario Gates kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oren Nugent. That made the score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. After some careless play in the Phoenixsun defense, Mitch Bates kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ron Pina. The Phoenixsun fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ron Pina should have stopped the shot. Mitch Bates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Pina having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rosario Gates stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eldon Washington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oren Nugent having to interfere. Phoenixsun's Rosario Gates got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Pelé & Cosmos MZS defense, Rosario Gates kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oren Nugent. The Pelé & Cosmos MZS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oren Nugent should have stopped the shot. Oren Nugent took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosario Gates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rosario Gates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenixsun's zone, Cameron Busby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ron Pina came out of the goal and Cameron Busby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the game, Phoenixsun's Eldon Washington nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oren Nugent made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 77thth minute of the game 邓博源 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenixsun's Ron Pina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mitch Bates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Pina having to interfere. Mitch Bates could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Ron Pina made a huge save. 邓博源 hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Cameron Busby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Pelé & Cosmos MZS booed when Phoenixsun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cliff Coates didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Pelé & Cosmos MZS players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Phoenixsun from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
