Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sydney Cowan started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Downriver AFC's goalkeeper Ivan Higgins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Downriver AFC booed when FAIR PLAY MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zachery Henderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rickey Russo's late challenge caught a FAIR PLAY MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rickey Russo helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes Downriver AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rickey Russo. 11 minutes into the match, Downriver AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Zachery Henderson came free, but Ivan Higgins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rickey Russo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 12 minutes had been played. Rickey Russo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Zachery Henderson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Higgins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierre Bocanegra's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. A collision led to FAIR PLAY MZ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tyrell Ragsdale hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachery Henderson in the 33rd minute of play forced Downriver AFC's goalkeeper Ivan Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Higgins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zachery Henderson in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Bocanegra in the 47th minute of play forced Downriver AFC's goalkeeper Ivan Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pierre Bocanegra made a kick off. Zachery Henderson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ivan Higgins firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Downriver AFC's Ivan Higgins got control of the ball when Pierre Bocanegra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Higgins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zachery Henderson in the 60th minute. Ivan Higgins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierre Bocanegra's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Pierre Bocanegra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74thth minute of the game Pierre Bocanegra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Downriver AFC's Ivan Higgins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 76 minutes of play, Downriver AFC's Domenico Arden made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roberto Alston was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pierre Bocanegra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Higgins came out and tried to block the shot, but Pierre Bocanegra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 81st minute. 86 minutes into the game, Zachery Henderson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ivan Higgins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pierre Bocanegra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Ivan Higgins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ian Tompkins hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FAIR PLAY MZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
