Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) West Gate's Damien Levy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Potter in the 3rd minute of play. Tim Rudd kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 6 played minutes Malta AFC got a freekick which was hit by Denver Andrews. Bob Hedrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Rubin in the 7th minute of the match. Malta AFC's Bob Hedrick proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Malta AFC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Bradley Potter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malta AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bradley Potter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damien Levy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfred Light during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wilfred Light hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Trenton Case had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Marty Atkinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Keenan Cottrell got free with Bob Hedrick in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bob Hedrick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Rubin in the 30th minute of the match. Bradley Potter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Damien Levy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Rene Tidwell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 45 minutes, Keenan Cottrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Gate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keenan Cottrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Diego Rubin came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the West Gate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Rubin couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Rubin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Bradley Potter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damien Levy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradley Potter in the 54th minute of play forced West Gate's goalkeeper Damien Levy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trenton Case's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Damien Levy firmly grabbed it by the left post. Malta AFC's Trenton Case came free and shot a quick shot against goal 58 minutes in the game, fortunately Damien Levy had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 60th minute, Trenton Case hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 62nd minute of the match Rene Tidwell completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rene Tidwell a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Malta AFC's Rene Tidwell got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Diego Rubin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 played minutes Malta AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rex Pulliam. Trenton Case could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Damien Levy made a huge save. When Malta AFC's Trenton Case in 81 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Damien Levy guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Trenton Case could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Damien Levy made a huge save. Quinn Samuels hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Trenton Case fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damien Levy having to interfere. Bob Hedrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Rubin, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
