To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Charles Town fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Charles Town's Nicky Stapleton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 11 minutes, Rex Pulliam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malta AFC and the Charles Town players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Charles Town booed when Malta AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rex Pulliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Bennett Lim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malta AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Charles Town the free kick. In the 12th minute, one of Malta AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Malta AFC. Sid Gentry took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bob Hedrick. Bob Hedrick dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 20th minute, Sean Egan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Nicky Stapleton put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bob Hedrick. 25 minutes into the game, Sid Gentry cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Bob Hedrick was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nicky Stapleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Nicky Stapleton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bob Hedrick, 7-0. Nicky Stapleton in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bob Hedrick, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 41st match minute, Malta AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Earl Suarez to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Nicky Stapleton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Charles Town fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicky Stapleton in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bob Hedrick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Malta AFC's zone, Sean Egan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bob Hedrick came out of the goal and Sean Egan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 8-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicky Stapleton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nicky Stapleton scored 9-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bob Hedrick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joshua Farrell kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Sandy Hanson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Tyrone Fowler made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Nicky Stapleton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bob Hedrick was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. During the 63rd minute of the match Earl Suarez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Earl Suarez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 73rdth minute of the game Avery King who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malta AFC's Bob Hedrick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charles Town walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
