Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jack Ritter started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes of play, West Gate's Diego Rubin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brendon Solis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diego Rubin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendon Solis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Diego Rubin managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Gate's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Rubin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brendon Solis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Keenan Cottrell might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brendon Solis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Keenan Cottrell ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to St Paul Trojans getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Adolfo Goff hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Keenan Cottrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brendon Solis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Brendon Solis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keenan Cottrell in the 33rd minute of play. Brendon Solis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keenan Cottrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Ramiro Ayers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. West Gate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave St Paul Trojans the free kick. In the 40th minute, Ramiro Ayers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Ritter in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damien Levy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute, Don Nickerson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The St Paul Trojans fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Rubin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in West Gate's zone, Jack Ritter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damien Levy came out of the goal and Jack Ritter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 played minutes St Paul Trojans got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Goff. 63 minutes into the match, West Gate's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Ritter came free, but Damien Levy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Jack Ritter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Tanner Pittman fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St Paul Trojans's protests and gave Tanner Pittman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Tanner Pittman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ferdinand Langford took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brendon Solis. St Paul Trojans's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Brendon Solis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Rubin in the 74th minute of play. Keenan Cottrell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brendon Solis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Keenan Cottrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damien Levy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Ritter, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Jack Ritter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damien Levy having to interfere. St Paul Trojans's Brendon Solis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save St Paul Trojans from getting a goal against them. Keenan Cottrell in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brendon Solis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. West Gate walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
