In the 12th match minute, Malta AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trenton Case to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Bradley Potter made the kick off in the second half. Downriver AFC's Sydney Cowan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sydney Cowan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
