The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rex Pearson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Derick Sloan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Sammy Cegielski in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rex Pearson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Derick Sloan might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rex Pearson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Derick Sloan ran back to his position shaking his head. Sammy Cegielski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Rex Pearson made a huge save. Chick-fil-a's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Derick Sloan 16 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Sammy Cegielski in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rex Pearson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hector Sams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rex Pearson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willis Brandon struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Rory Whitlock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chick-fil-a. Chick-fil-a's Rex Pearson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derick Sloan in the 27th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Derick Sloan rounded Chick-fil-a's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. Rex Pearson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sammy Cegielski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Malibu Soccer Beach's Sammy Cegielski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rex Pearson. Rex Pearson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. If Derick Sloan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tommie Medley to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Malibu Soccer Beach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quinton Harmon to maneuver through the defense. Stacey Rafferty charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Rory Whitlock was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tobias Schumacher. In the 57th minute, Winford Parson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Valencia in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rex Pearson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Felipe Valencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Sammy Cegielski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rex Pearson was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Tommie Medley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rory Whitlock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Malibu Soccer Beach's Sammy Cegielski in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chick-fil-a's goalie prevented a goal. In the 90thth minute of the game Sammy Cegielski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chick-fil-a's Rex Pearson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Chick-fil-a getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Don Pruett hit a great ball. When the referee ended the match the Malibu Soccer Beach players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
