Javier Elkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Tyron Carrillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Rodolfo Benjamin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricky Herrera might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tyron Carrillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricky Herrera ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricky Herrera to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Brillion was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Benjamin to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Jamison took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Soin Jerez. Brillion's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingo Hooks in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Soin Jerez saved Brillion from getting behind. If Ricky Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. He was immediately shown a red card. 94 minutes into the game, one of Brillion:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Soin Jerez had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Bill Spears's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 97th minute, Bill Spears left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The High Point AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Brillion players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for High Point AFC.
