Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Monmouth's Michael Crusher started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goalkeeper Alex Westbrook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurice Freeman. Maurice Freeman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 6th playminute. 9 minutes into the game, Michael Crusher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monmouth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Topton the free kick. Maurice Freeman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Alex Westbrook made a huge save. In the 17th minute of the match, Maurice Freeman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alex Westbrook was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny Handy in the 20th minute of play forced Monmouth's goalkeeper Alex Westbrook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Crusher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Monmouth defense, Maurice Freeman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Westbrook. The Monmouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Westbrook should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Topton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Riker to maneuver through the defense. Ronny Handy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Alex Westbrook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goalkeeper Alex Westbrook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurice Freeman. Ronny Handy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Alex Westbrook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Monmouth getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Alexis Ferrell hit a great ball. Michael Crusher kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. With a little luck, Monmouth's Alex Westbrook got control of the ball when Maurice Freeman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Chappelle hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Maurice Freeman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Alex Westbrook made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Travis Cangiano struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Alex Westbrook didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Topton. After 52 played minutes Monmouth got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Chappelle. If Maurice Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexis Ferrell kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Topton's Maurice Freeman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Westbrook narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alex Westbrook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Handy in the 66th minute of play. Alex Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurice Freeman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurice Freeman in the 75th minute of play forced Monmouth's goalkeeper Alex Westbrook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes of play, Topton's Cliff Rutledge made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alex Westbrook was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alex Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronny Handy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute of the match Topton got a corner. Monmouth's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elliot Starks ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Maurice Freeman fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Topton's protests and gave Maurice Freeman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Monmouth booed when Topton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurice Freeman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Michael Crusher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregg Erickson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Handy came free, but Alex Westbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
