Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ronny Handy started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Casey Whitfield came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Washburn FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casey Whitfield couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Casey Whitfield's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregg Erickson was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Alonzo Donovan struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Gregg Erickson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Washburn FC. Casey Whitfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gregg Erickson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Topton's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Donovan came free, but Gregg Erickson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Travis Cangiano's late challenge caught a Washburn FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Travis Cangiano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Washburn FC booed when Topton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Travis Cangiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casey Whitfield blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gregg Erickson having to make a save. 21 minutes into the match, Casey Whitfield notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Topton's Gregg Erickson. Gregg Erickson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Washburn FC's Isaiah Grove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Handy in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Topton's zone, Casey Whitfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregg Erickson came out of the goal and Casey Whitfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurice Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Isaiah Grove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Olson hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Isaiah Grove made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Maurice Freeman sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the match, Washburn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Handy came free, but Isaiah Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Topton getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Percy Riker hit a great ball. After 40 played minutes, Washburn FC's Alonzo Donovan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gregg Erickson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Washburn FC reached it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casey Whitfield to make the kick off. Walter Bruner hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Isaiah Grove stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronny Handy's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Topton! In the 77th minute, Casey Whitfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute, Percy Riker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Casey Whitfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casey Whitfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Washburn FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Robbie Hicks hit a great ball. Duane Glenn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Gregg Erickson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Casey Whitfield's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregg Erickson was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Casey Whitfield in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gregg Erickson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 97th minute, Duane Glenn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gregg Erickson. The goal made the score 0-4. When the final whistle sounded Washburn FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Topton.
