Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ronny Handy made the kick off which started today's match. Novatoo's Nicholas Wolff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Handy in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Topton's zone, Devin Oliver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregg Erickson came out of the goal and Devin Oliver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 7 minutes, Nigel Whalen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Novatoo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nigel Whalen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Novatoo defense, Maurice Freeman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicholas Wolff. The Novatoo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicholas Wolff should have stopped the shot. Nicholas Wolff made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maurice Freeman in the 12th minute. Nicholas Wolff was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joey Sorenson. Nicholas Wolff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Handy, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Maurice Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Wolff having to interfere. Monte Shelton scored 2-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicholas Wolff, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Topton's zone, Randell Rivera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregg Erickson came out of the goal and Randell Rivera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gregg Erickson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randell Rivera in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Novatoo's Nicholas Wolff got control of the ball when Maurice Freeman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicholas Wolff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronny Handy in the 32nd minute of play. Joey Sorenson lost his temper 37 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Topton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! Devin Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregg Erickson having to interfere. Randell Rivera shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Randell Rivera to strike the kick off in the second half. If Devin Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Novatoo's Randell Rivera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gregg Erickson. That made the score 2-2 after 55 minutes of play. Maurice Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nicholas Wolff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Devin Oliver might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregg Erickson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Devin Oliver ran back to his position shaking his head. Gregg Erickson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randell Rivera in the 75th minute of the match. Grant Sullivan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregg Erickson made an important save on a dangerous shot by James Starnes in the 81st minute. Gregg Erickson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devin Oliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 83 minutes, Travis Cangiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Topton and the Novatoo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Novatoo booed when Topton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Travis Cangiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Devin Oliver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Devin Oliver got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Novatoo. If Percy Riker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 minutes, Nigel Whalen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Novatoo and the Topton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes Novatoo got a freekick which was hit by Nigel Whalen. Nigel Whalen hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
