Gregg Erickson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmy Herrera in the 61st minute of play. If Maurice Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Topton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Merlin Cermak fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 68 minutes into the match, Topton's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Herrera came free, but Gregg Erickson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Redford's Gilbert Calvert got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 80th play minute Myles Cano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gregg Erickson. 2-4. Gregg Erickson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bradly Ludwig's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Redford's Todd Welsh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Freeman in the 84th minute of play. Ronny Handy hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Todd Welsh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Freeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Redford supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Redford would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
