Monmouth's Alex Westbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leland Rubio in the 7th minute of play. Leland Rubio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, Werner Vickers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Rocco Berg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Westbrook was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 28th minute, Leland Rubio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Westbrook was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Monmouth's Alex Westbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leland Rubio in the 33rd minute of play. Monmouth's Alex Westbrook proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Monmouth from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Leland Rubio put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alex Westbrook. 45 minutes into the game, one of Monmouth:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave John Hartford FC a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rocco Berg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Monmouth's Alex Westbrook. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leland Rubio was the one to do the kick off. Alex Westbrook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Kruse in the 54th minute of the match. The Monmouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Westbrook should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leland Rubio in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Westbrook prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. John Hartford FC had played much better football throughout.
