Spectators: 8007 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reyes Edmondson started the match with the kick off. Alfredo Quinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bennett Aaron got free with Ethan Frey in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Alfredo Quinn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesa de Lugo's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Quinn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ethan Frey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ethan Frey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Quinn in the 18th minute. Phillip Benitez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ethan Frey having to make a save. If Reyes Edmondson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zachariah Quintana came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Mathews AFC's Harvey Cho. But to his dismay, Harvey Cho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alfredo Quinn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Quinn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Ethan Frey made a huge save. Alfredo Quinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Montesa de Lugo's Darryl Califf seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Darryl Califf the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Montesa de Lugo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Darryl Califf had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Mathews AFC booed when Montesa de Lugo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Califf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Mathews AFC's Sylvester Todd tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ethan Frey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Quinn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Francis Flaherty fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mathews AFC's protests and gave Francis Flaherty a yellow card for diving instead. Francis Flaherty kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 61 minutes, Allan Bruner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montesa de Lugo and the Mathews AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Montesa de Lugo's Allan Bruner got a free kick in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Quinn in the 70th minute of play forced Mathews AFC's goalkeeper Ethan Frey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Quinn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ethan Frey was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Loren Tracy kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Alfredo Quinn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ethan Frey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cason Parks scored 1-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zachariah Quintana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Mathews AFC booed when Montesa de Lugo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurice Holzer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes, Montesa de Lugo's Loren Tracy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ethan Frey came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montesa de Lugo reached it.
