Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walter Hawley in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Vogt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Johnson Lane's Desmond Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Taylor Rivas's late challenge caught a Sawgrass's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Taylor Rivas helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Johnson Lane getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Taylor Rivas hit a great ball. Aaron Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marshall Stoner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sawgrass's goalkeeper Duane Carbajal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Manuel Pugh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnson Lane's Taylor Rivas got his second yellow card of the match in the 23rd minute. The referee ordered Taylor Rivas off the ground. Aaron Vogt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marshall Stoner in the 25th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Damon Lehman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Johnson Lane's supporters rose to their feet, but Damon Lehman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duane Carbajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marshall Stoner took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aaron Vogt. Aaron Vogt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Desmond Garcia made a kick off. Aaron Vogt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marshall Stoner in the 53rd minute of play. Walter Hawley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aaron Vogt came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Sawgrass's Walter Hawley. But to his dismay, Walter Hawley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Aaron Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marshall Stoner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marshall Stoner in the 61st minute of play forced Johnson Lane's goalkeeper Aaron Vogt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 minutes Johnson Lane's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Heriberto Alston who took care of the corner kick. Sawgrass's Cobi Holt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aaron Vogt in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Johnson Lane getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Desmond Garcia hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Hawley got free with Aaron Vogt in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 67 minutes into the game, Marshall Stoner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Aaron Vogt. Marshall Stoner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The audience was convinced that Marshall Stoner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aaron Vogt was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Johnson Lane's Aaron Vogt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Johnson Lane from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Marshall Stoner took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Aaron Vogt to make any attempt to save it. When the match was over Sawgrass could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Johnson Lane throughout the match.
