The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Everett Gilmore fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Johnson Lane's protests and gave Everett Gilmore a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Johnson Lane's Everett Gilmore got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 3rd minute Joseph Donaldson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Vogt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Johnson Lane getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Taylor Rivas hit a great ball. After 5 played minutes, Iberia United's Michael Wilkes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aaron Vogt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iberia United reached it. Johnson Lane's Aaron Vogt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joseph Donaldson in the 9th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michael Wilkes in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aaron Vogt saved Johnson Lane from getting behind. 11 minutes into the game, Iberia United's Clinton Tobin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron Vogt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Esteban Newcomb in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Vogt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Everett Gilmore hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Johnson Lane's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Donaldson came free, but Aaron Vogt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Vogt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clinton Tobin in the 22nd minute of play. Aaron Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clinton Tobin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Johnson Lane's goal looked a bit too open when Solomon Storey came free, but Aaron Vogt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clinton Tobin in the 30th minute of play forced Johnson Lane's goalkeeper Aaron Vogt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taylor Rivas kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Clinton Tobin made a precise shot to the right of Aaron Vogt. Johnson Lane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 37th match minute, Johnson Lane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damon Lehman to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Michael Wilkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Vogt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 played minutes Iberia United got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Newcomb. Jackson Cornett kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Clinton Tobin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damon Lehman made a kick off. Aaron Vogt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Wilkes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Johnson Lane getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Marquis Bynum hit a great ball. If Joseph Donaldson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Iberia United booed when Johnson Lane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taylor Rivas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Vogt was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Michael Wilkes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Michael Wilkes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. When Joseph Donaldson came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Iberia United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Donaldson couldn't finish the play. Dante Reeder hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Michael Wilkes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Aaron Vogt made a huge save. In the 76th minute, Alec Ellison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Everett Gilmore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the match, Johnson Lane's goalkeeper Aaron Vogt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clinton Tobin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joseph Donaldson in the 90th minute of play forced Johnson Lane's goalkeeper Aaron Vogt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Johnson Lane's zone, Solomon Storey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Vogt came out of the goal and Solomon Storey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aaron Vogt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Clinton Tobin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 94 minute of play. Iberia United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
