Roanoke FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Ted Jarrett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Mickey Pham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute, Bradley Trimble left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kenner fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Mickey Pham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oren Gorman in the 28th minute of the match. Mickey Pham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristobal Root, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 minutes, Woody Woodall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roanoke FC and the Kenner players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Woody Woodall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mickey Pham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamar Shaw in the 43rd minute of play. Wilfred Paul's late challenge caught a Kenner's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raphael Dudley made a kick off. Raphael Dudley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Sadler having to interfere. The Kenner fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Kenner's Oren Gorman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Woody Woodall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Glen Sadler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamar Shaw in the 73rd minute of play forced Roanoke FC's goalkeeper Mickey Pham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Kenner's Bradley Trimble sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mickey Pham narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mickey Pham made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Oren Gorman sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Kenner getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Emilio Chin hit a great ball. Kenner's Glen Sadler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lane Womack in the 81st minute of play. Oren Gorman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Mickey Pham when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Roanoke FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Kenner were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
