Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bill McCauley kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Edwardsville's Donovan Hanks got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Lionel Corcoran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lyle Riddle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bill Burris kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Lionel Corcoran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tampa Bay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Lionel Corcoran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Braxton having to interfere. Lionel Corcoran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sean Braxton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reed Deering in the 24th minute of play forced Tampa Bay's goalkeeper Donnie Holder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lyle Riddle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lane Driscoll kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Edwardsville's Joseph Hendrickson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Donnie Holder but with some difficulty. Tampa Bay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Reed Deering scored to the left of an out of position Donnie Holder, making the score, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lyle Riddle got free with Donnie Holder in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute, Waylon Hyatt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donnie Holder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reed Deering in the 41st minute of play. Donnie Holder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reed Deering's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Tampa Bay's Donnie Holder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Tampa Bay from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes into the game, Carlo Stroh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tampa Bay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Edwardsville the free kick. In the 54th match minute, Tampa Bay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Stroh to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 55 minutes, Lyle Riddle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edwardsville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lyle Riddle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donnie Holder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reed Deering, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Donnie Holder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lyle Riddle in the 60th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Tampa Bay's goal looked a bit too open when Reed Deering came free, but Donnie Holder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lyle Riddle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Holder having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Lyle Riddle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodrick Mayer charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodrick Mayer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Edwardsville got a freekick which was hit by Rodrick Mayer. In the 86th minute of the match Waylon Hyatt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Braxton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Donnie Holder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Earl Wiley in the 88th minute of play. Donnie Holder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reed Deering, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donnie Holder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lyle Riddle, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When Tampa Bay's Bill McCauley in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edwardsville's goalie prevented a goal. Lyle Riddle charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 98th minute, Lyle Riddle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bill McCauley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean Braxton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 100th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tampa Bay eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
