Annan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malcolm Simon hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lane Womack in the 15th minute of play forced Drumright AFC's goalkeeper D.J. Annan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jordan Rivas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Mickey Pham when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mickey Pham was a little too slow when Kenneth Whalen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 2-0. 23 minutes into the match, Roanoke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Benoit came free, but Mickey Pham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lane Womack in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck D.J. Annan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lane Womack in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg D.J. Annan saved Drumright AFC from getting behind. When Raphael Dudley came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Roanoke FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Dudley couldn't finish the play. Raphael Dudley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. D.J. Annan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. D.J. Annan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lane Womack in the 42nd minute of play. With a little luck, Roanoke FC's Mickey Pham got control of the ball when Darin Cahill tried to sneak it across the goal line. D.J. Annan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lane Womack, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Raphael Dudley struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. D.J. Annan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roanoke FC. Parker Armstrong charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Parker Armstrong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Parker Armstrong hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Lane Womack succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 61st playminute. The supporters of Roanoke FC booed when Drumright AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Tomlinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roanoke FC's Woody Woodall couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Drumright AFC. Drumright AFC's Malcolm Simon got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Malcolm Simon off the ground. In the 76th minute, Lane Womack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mohammad Tackett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Pham having to interfere. When Kenneth Whalen came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Drumright AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenneth Whalen couldn't finish the play.
