The supporters of Virga City Vipers booed when Buna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sid Hamby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Buna got a corner. Virga City Vipers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rene Riddle ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rene Riddle made a great header on Buna's corner, it was just that Virga City Vipers's Rueben Ryan managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Zaragoza got free with Scotty Rasmussen in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Blair Merritt made a precise shot to the right of Scotty Rasmussen. Buna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blair Merritt in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Scotty Rasmussen saved Buna from getting behind. Tom Tobin struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Rueben Ryan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buna. In the 43rd minute Monte Goldsmith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scotty Rasmussen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Blair Merritt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Scotty Rasmussen, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Tom Tobin made the kick off in the second half. Virga City Vipers's Blair Merritt got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the game, Virga City Vipers's Blair Merritt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Scotty Rasmussen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Sid Hamby kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Blair Merritt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scotty Rasmussen was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After having played for 75 minutes, Monte Goldsmith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Virga City Vipers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monte Goldsmith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tom Tobin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rueben Ryan came out and tried to block the shot, but Tom Tobin slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 77th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Buna's goalkeeper Scotty Rasmussen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Buna's goal looked a bit too open when Blair Merritt came free, but Scotty Rasmussen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Scotty Rasmussen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blair Merritt, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Virga City Vipers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
