Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Raymond Mullen started the match with the kick off. Raymond Mullen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garth Eason having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Mullen in the 8th minute of play forced Vernon Hills's goalkeeper Garth Eason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Wade Powell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Meltics Fc's Ari Werner got a free kick in the 10th minute. Todd Carmona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theodore Carr having to interfere. Garth Eason made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mohammad Helms in the 24th minute. After 29 minutes, Van Christian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vernon Hills and the Meltics Fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Vernon Hills was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Van Christian to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Mohammad Helms got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Mohammad Helms fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Garth Eason, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Meltics Fc's Osvaldo Mejia got a free kick in the 38th minute. The supporters of Vernon Hills booed when Meltics Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo Mejia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Vernon Hills's Elias Lowe broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

The wind increased when Todd Carmona made the kick off in the second half. Garth Eason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Mejia in the 54th minute of play. In the 65th minute Raymond Mullen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Eason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garth Eason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mohammad Helms in the 68th minute of the match. Wade Powell came free with the goalkeeper in the 78th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Theodore Carr could save by the left post. If Wade Powell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Vernon Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Mejia came free, but Garth Eason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raymond Mullen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garth Eason having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Raymond Mullen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Garth Eason. Vernon Hills's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raymond Mullen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Vernon Hills were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
