Alex Pearson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merrill Justice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Brainerd FC's goalkeeper Alex Pearson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milo Winn. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Milo Winn took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Alex Pearson to make any attempt to save it. Milo Winn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the game, Milo Winn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Alex Pearson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brainerd FC's Alex Pearson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Brainerd FC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Merrill Justice made the kick off in the second half. Owen Baker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Cornelius in the 51st minute of the match. Brainerd FC's Arnoldo Stahl got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Miami Gators booed when Brainerd FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Errol Harmon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Milo Winn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Pearson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 63rd minute, Orlando Thayer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Brainerd FC booed when Miami Gators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merrill Justice didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Brainerd FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Arnoldo Stahl hit a great ball. Alex Pearson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Knapp, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 71st minute, Milo Winn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Owen Baker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnoldo Stahl in the 77th minute. If Luis Cornelius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Pearson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Merrill Justice's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. When Cobi Wray came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Brainerd FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cobi Wray couldn't finish the play. If Merrill Justice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Brainerd FC defense, Milo Winn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Pearson. The Brainerd FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Pearson should have stopped the shot. Jeremy Hackett hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Miami Gators's Owen Baker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Lockhart in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Milo Winn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miami Gators fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Miami Gators fully deserved thier win.
