Spectators: 7860 (Terracing: 5900, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 160) Douglas DeJesus started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Marlon Vilter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Donald Brandt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Marlon Vilter put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Donald Brandt. If Douglas DeJesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donald Brandt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlon Vilter in the 19th minute of the match. Andrei Manciulea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Jenkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Marlon Vilter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marlon Vilter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donald Brandt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Paolo Atarratze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Douglas DeJesus struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Donald Brandt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gates. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Paolo Atarratze got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Gates fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Gates's Paolo Atarratze looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Eddy in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Manciulea saved Gates from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Marlon Vilter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gates's supporters rose to their feet, but Marlon Vilter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Brandt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Douglas DeJesus came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Gates fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas DeJesus couldn't finish the play. Paolo Atarratze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Brandt having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Marlon Vilter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gates's supporters rose to their feet, but Marlon Vilter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Brandt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, Paolo Atarratze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Douglas DeJesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gates's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas DeJesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donald Brandt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrei Manciulea was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ronald Connolly. In the 72nd minute, Marlon Vilter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Gates's goalkeeper Andrei Manciulea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Eddy. Ramiro Orozco kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Douglas DeJesus charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douglas DeJesus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Gates got a freekick which was hit by Douglas DeJesus. In the 87th minute, Billy Jenkins reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andrei Manciulea. The goal made the score 2-1. Douglas DeJesus struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Donald Brandt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gates. The supporters of Gates booed when Childersburg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Dozier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Eddy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gates's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
