In the 9th match minute, Oprescuville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serkan Kubilay to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Marlon Vilter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chico Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marlon Vilter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglas DeJesus succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Ramiro Orozco kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. J.C. Davis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrei Manciulea having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by J.C. Davis in the 23rd minute of play forced Gates's goalkeeper Andrei Manciulea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas DeJesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Marlon Vilter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chico Velasco was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After 26 minutes, Marlon Vilter made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Oprescuville's Chico Velasco tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers J.C. Davis in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Manciulea saved Gates from getting behind. Chico Velasco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marlon Vilter's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Gates got a corner. Oprescuville's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Douglas DeJesus ran over to the corner to take the kick. Freddy Roy kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Oprescuville's Shaun Herndon got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when J.C. Davis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andrei Manciulea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from J.C. Davis in the 53rd minute of play. Donato Figueroa kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Oprescuville's Chico Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Oprescuville from getting a goal against them. Chico Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas DeJesus in the 81st minute of play. Chico Velasco came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Gates's Douglas DeJesus. But to his dismay, Douglas DeJesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Jaime Vann kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Kenny Carlton kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the game, Shaun Herndon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Andrei Manciulea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
