Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zack Harris kicked off to start the match. 11 minutes into the match, Son Gaines had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Beck. Ferry Pass's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Son Gaines was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Adrian Beck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Son Gaines's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Knoxville United FC's Thanh Maloney got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ferry Pass's Brendon Fair got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Brendan Ware managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knoxville United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendan Ware was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Beck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Cowan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Brendon Fair. In the 25th minute, Zack Harris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zack Harris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elliott Vinson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Felix Cowan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanh Maloney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Beck having to interfere. Son Gaines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Knoxville United FC booed when Ferry Pass was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derrick McIntosh didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Thanh Maloney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Thanh Maloney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knoxville United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanh Maloney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ferry Pass's zone, Son Gaines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Beck came out of the goal and Son Gaines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Ferry Pass's goal looked a bit too open when Thanh Maloney came free, but Adrian Beck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Knoxville United FC's Felix Cowan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Knoxville United FC from getting a goal against them.
The wind increased when Thanh Maloney made the kick off in the second half. Zack Harris struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Felix Cowan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferry Pass. If Zack Harris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Craig Whitney kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Rashad Fugate hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Thanh Maloney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Beck having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zack Harris in the 65th minute of play forced Knoxville United FC's goalkeeper Felix Cowan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanh Maloney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Adrian Beck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Son Gaines got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Thanks to some nice moves Son Gaines could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Adrian Beck however easily saved by the left post. Adrian Beck was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thanh Maloney showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 72 minute of play. Son Gaines might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Beck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Son Gaines ran back to his position shaking his head. 82 minutes into the match, Ferry Pass's goal looked a bit too open when Thanh Maloney came free, but Adrian Beck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Knoxville United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zack Harris came free, but Felix Cowan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Son Gaines fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Adrian Beck, passed just outside the right post. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Knoxville United FC's goalkeeper Felix Cowan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rashad Fugate hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Thanh Maloney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Beck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Knoxville United FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Knoxville United FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
