The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilio Justice during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Virginia Cyclones booed when REFTS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Justice didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute Edgardo Shaver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Mann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tristan McClain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Shaver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Domenico Cardoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Slaughter was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alec Mann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Poe, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Alec Mann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Poe in the 28th minute. REFTS were furious when Karl Lacey was red carded, 30 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of REFTS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Virginia Cyclones:s goal. The referee gave Virginia Cyclones a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeramy Goddard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of REFTS's Alec Mann. 1-1. Jeramy Goddard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Alec Mann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edgardo Shaver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alec Mann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Shaver in the 41st minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Claudio Poe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolland Hightower's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alec Mann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Edgardo Shaver made the kick off in the second half. Wyatt Huff hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Lucas Slaughter made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Bryan Dickinson sent off a good shot on target. Alec Mann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeramy Goddard in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, REFTS's Tad Rush got a free kick in the 57th minute. When Tristan McClain came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Virginia Cyclones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tristan McClain couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Jermaine Quintero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudio Poe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Mann having to interfere. If Tristan McClain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alec Mann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeramy Goddard in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77thth minute of the game Edgardo Shaver who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but REFTS's Alec Mann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Titus Yu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alec Mann having to interfere. Alec Mann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeramy Goddard in the 83rd minute of the match. Jeramy Goddard scored 2-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alec Mann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Tristan McClain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alec Mann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgardo Shaver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Virginia Cyclones players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
