Spectators: 7859 (Terracing: 5900, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 159) Bernie Saucedo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Paolo Atarratze might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elliott Stapleton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paolo Atarratze ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Douglas DeJesus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gates's supporters rose to their feet, but Douglas DeJesus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elliott Stapleton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernie Saucedo in the 12th minute of play forced Gates's goalkeeper Andrei Manciulea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Gates were awarded a corner. Douglas DeJesus went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Marlon Vilter got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 17 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, Douglas DeJesus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elliott Stapleton. Douglas DeJesus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Gates's Andrei Manciulea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernie Saucedo in the 27th minute of play. Gates's Ramiro Orozco got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Paolo Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 31 played minutes Douglas DeJesus rounded Glen Ellyn's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. If Marlon Vilter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Douglas DeJesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th minute, Gates's Paolo Atarratze dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Douglas DeJesus made the kick off in the second half. Elliott Stapleton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paolo Atarratze's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Elliott Stapleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlon Vilter, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Bernie Saucedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Andrei Manciulea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marlon Vilter struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Elliott Stapleton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gates. After a defensive mix-up in Glen Ellyn's zone, Marlon Vilter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal and Marlon Vilter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Blair Levy kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Gates getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Paolo Atarratze hit a great ball. Douglas DeJesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute, Douglas DeJesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marlon Vilter took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elliott Stapleton. Elliott Stapleton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 76 minutes into the match, Marlon Vilter notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Glen Ellyn's Elliott Stapleton. Elliott Stapleton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andrei Manciulea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ollie Goode in the 83rd minute of play. Glen Ellyn's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ollie Goode in the 84th minute. Andrei Manciulea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ollie Goode in the 87th minute of the match. Elliott Stapleton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlon Vilter, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Douglas DeJesus's late challenge caught a Glen Ellyn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Douglas DeJesus helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Gates got a freekick which was hit by Douglas DeJesus. Gates walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
