Lucas Slaughter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lewis Arden in the 16th minute of play. The referee ignored Lincroft's protests and gave Adolfo Weston a yellow card for diving instead. Titus Yu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 46 minutes into the match. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tristan McClain made a kick off. Jeramy Goddard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Art Randall having to interfere. Virginia Cyclones's Jeramy Goddard got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jeramy Goddard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute Jeramy Goddard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Art Randall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Weston kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, Lincroft was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Weston to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Luther Higgins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lincroft's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Virginia Cyclones the free kick. Art Randall went to the wrong direction when Jeramy Goddard was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The Virginia Cyclones fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Virginia Cyclones's Jeramy Goddard looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeramy Goddard in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Art Randall saved Lincroft from getting behind.
