After having played for 17 minutes, J.C. Davis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oprescuville's supporters crossed their fingers, but J.C. Davis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Virginia Cyclones's Lucas Slaughter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by J.C. Davis in the 19th minute of play. If J.C. Davis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Slaughter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Shaun Herndon in the 27th minute. In the 34th minute, Edgardo Shaver left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Virginia Cyclones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and J.C. Davis made a kick off. A collision led to Oprescuville getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Shaun Herndon hit a great ball. Lucas Slaughter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from J.C. Davis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, J.C. Davis notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Virginia Cyclones's Lucas Slaughter. Lucas Slaughter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74th match minute, Oprescuville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Millano to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute J.C. Davis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Slaughter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lucas Millano fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oprescuville's protests and gave Lucas Millano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Oprescuville getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Lucas Millano hit a great ball. The supporters of Oprescuville booed when Virginia Cyclones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rhett Jacques didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that J.C. Davis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Slaughter was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The Oprescuville players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
