In the 14th minute Ali McClure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Ali McClure dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chico Velasco, 1-0. Nicky Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Velasco having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Ali McClure took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Chico Velasco to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Oprescuville getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Donato Figueroa hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match, Ali McClure tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Chico Velasco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Chico Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali McClure, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serkan Kubilay during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Nicky Benavides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali McClure might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chico Velasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali McClure ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
