In the 11th match minute, Lincroft was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Arden to maneuver through the defense. Bryant Weir might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elliott Stapleton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bryant Weir ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the game, Lincroft's King Alford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elliott Stapleton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 22 minutes into the game, Bernie Saucedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Art Randall was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vern DeJesus kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Elliott Stapleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryant Weir in the 30th minute of the match. Glen Ellyn's Elliott Stapleton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Glen Ellyn from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute, Vern DeJesus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Art Randall was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Elliott Stapleton made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when King Alford sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute, Ollie Goode ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Art Randall was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The Lincroft players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Glen Ellyn were winning 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernie Saucedo made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Glen Ellyn's zone, Lewis Arden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Stapleton came out of the goal and Lewis Arden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ollie Goode's late challenge caught a Lincroft's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ollie Goode helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lincroft booed when Glen Ellyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ollie Goode didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Bryant Weir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Lincroft's Art Randall got control of the ball when Vern DeJesus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Art Randall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernie Saucedo in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vern DeJesus in the 71st minute of play forced Lincroft's goalkeeper Art Randall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Art Randall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ollie Goode in the 74th minute of the match. Elliott Stapleton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lewis Arden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glen Ellyn's Elliott Stapleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryant Weir in the 79th minute of play. If Bryant Weir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lincroft's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Ollie Goode scored to the left of an out of position Art Randall, making the score, 1-4. In the 89th match minute, Lincroft was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Weston to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Lincroft defense, Bernie Saucedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Art Randall. The Lincroft fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Art Randall should have stopped the shot. Glen Ellyn's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
