Jack Agnes started the match with the kick off. Tony Freitas's late challenge caught a Wigan Athletic FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. Stanford Peters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dustin Schroeder in the 5th minute of play. Tracy Brunson struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Gunnar Andreasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kentucky Mustangs. Tracy Brunson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gunnar Andreasson having to interfere. When Jamar Patton came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Wigan Athletic FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamar Patton couldn't finish the play. Gunnar Andreasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tracy Brunson in the 15th minute of play. Tracy Brunson scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gunnar Andreasson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gunnar Andreasson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jack Agnes in the 21st minute. After having played for 31 minutes, César Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wigan Athletic FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but César Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dustin Schroeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Stanford Peters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Wigan Athletic FC booed when Kentucky Mustangs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute César Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanford Peters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes Kentucky Mustangs's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vincent 张飞 who took care of the corner kick. César Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanford Peters having to interfere.

The wind increased when César Romero made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Kentucky Mustangs getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jose Cunningham hit a great ball. Jack Agnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Gunnar Andreasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tracy Brunson in the 63rd minute of play forced Wigan Athletic FC's goalkeeper Gunnar Andreasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th match minute, Kentucky Mustangs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tracy Brunson to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the game, Julian Matthews recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stanford Peters. Julian Matthews showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Kentucky Mustangs made a substitution. Brian Loomis replaced Tony Freitas. Wigan Athletic FC's Gunnar Andreasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Agnes in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Dustin Schroeder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wigan Athletic FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dustin Schroeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanford Peters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gunnar Andreasson came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Kentucky Mustangs's Jack Agnes. But to his dismay, Jack Agnes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Wigan Athletic FC's Gunnar Andreasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tracy Brunson in the 91st minute of play. Stanford Peters made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Julian Matthews sent off a good shot on target.
