Milo Miranda showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Jude Blankenship took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Bill Burger to make any attempt to save it. 14 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Cordero notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger. Bill Burger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Shayne Cagle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Shayne Cagle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bill Burger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Suns Atletic from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Cordero got free with Bill Burger in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bill Burger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jude Blankenship, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shayne Cagle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Jude Blankenship made a precise shot to the right of Bill Burger. Phoenix Suns Atletic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 31 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Cordero notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger. Bill Burger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 34 minutes, Murray Teague mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phoenix Suns Atletic and the Waterbury Rangers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Shayne Cagle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Waterbury Rangers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Wells in the 40th minute of play forced Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalkeeper Bill Burger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bill Burger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jude Blankenship in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Jon Chen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute, Waterbury Rangers's Milo Miranda dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 7-0. In the 47th minute of the match, Rodolfo Cordero got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bill Burger was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shayne Cagle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bill Burger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shayne Cagle in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Rodolfo Cordero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waterbury Rangers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodolfo Cordero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Waterbury Rangers's Rodolfo Cordero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bill Burger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. 61 minutes into the match, Waterbury Rangers's Shayne Cagle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bill Burger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jude Blankenship in the 62nd minute of play forced Phoenix Suns Atletic's goalkeeper Bill Burger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Phoenix Suns Atletic's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Cordero came free, but Bill Burger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Preston Winston in the 66th minute of play. After 70 minutes Phoenix Suns Atletic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ryan Esparza who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ryan Esparza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Phoenix Suns Atletic's Bill Burger did a great save. In the 72nd minute Rodolfo Cordero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bill Burger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Jude Blankenship ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bill Burger was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Shayne Cagle scored 10-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bill Burger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bill Burger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shayne Cagle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Cordero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Bill Burger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boyd Donnelly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enoch Hood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bill Burger came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Waterbury Rangers's Rodolfo Cordero. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Cordero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 13-0. Bill Burger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Salas, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Bill Burger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lewis Salas in the 95th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Waterbury Rangers were the better team. Waterbury Rangers's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
