The Waterbury Rangers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, INTER MIAMI's goal looked a bit too open when Jude Blankenship came free, but Monty Pepper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Fair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Boyd Donnelly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roland Fair to make the kick off. If Shayne Cagle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the INTER MIAMI defense, Rodolfo Cordero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Monty Pepper. The INTER MIAMI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Monty Pepper should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Waterbury Rangers booed when INTER MIAMI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robby Fairchild didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Ryan Esparza in the 64th minute really tested Monty Pepper's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 67 minutes into the game, Shayne Cagle recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Monty Pepper. Shayne Cagle showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. INTER MIAMI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Jude Blankenship scored to the left of an out of position Monty Pepper, making the score, 0-8. In the 74th minute, Shayne Cagle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Monty Pepper was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. 77 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Cordero recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Monty Pepper. Rodolfo Cordero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-10. Monty Pepper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shayne Cagle's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Hugo Mohr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyd Donnelly having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Jude Blankenship reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Monty Pepper. The goal made the score 0-11. In the 86th minute, Rodolfo Cordero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Monty Pepper was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-12. In the 92nd minute, Waterbury Rangers's Jude Blankenship dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-13.
