In the 3rd minute, Roland Fair left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INTER MIAMI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Roland Fair had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hugo Mohr in the 11th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Bill Burger kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Zachary Albert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Burger made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Roland Fair sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Mohr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bill Burger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. INTER MIAMI's Monty Pepper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Hodge in the 28th minute of play. Hugo Mohr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bill Burger having to make a save. If Hugo Mohr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of INTER MIAMI booed when Phoenix Suns Atletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stacey Lefler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Leroy Blackburn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Roland Fair managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Bill Burger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronny Cummins in the 41st minute. A collision led to Phoenix Suns Atletic getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jon Chen hit a great ball. INTER MIAMI's Ronny Cummins got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bill Burger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Fair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Ronny Cummins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Burger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Mohr in the 59th minute of the match. When Roland Fair came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the INTER MIAMI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Fair couldn't finish the play. Bill Burger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Fair in the 68th minute of play. INTER MIAMI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roland Fair in the 70th minute. Zachary Albert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Phoenix Suns Atletic getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Murray Teague hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the game, Jon Chen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Suns Atletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave INTER MIAMI the free kick. With a little luck, INTER MIAMI's Monty Pepper got control of the ball when Romeo Hodge tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toby Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
