Rodolfo Cordero came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Boyce Mathews could save by the left post. Boyce Mathews took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shayne Cagle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Cordero recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Boyce Mathews. Rodolfo Cordero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 24 played minutes Boys of Riverdrive FC got a freekick which was hit by Tymoteusz Wierzcholek. In the 25th minute Shayne Cagle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyce Mathews saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Rodolfo Cordero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waterbury Rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Cordero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyce Mathews breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Rodolfo Cordero could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Boyce Mathews however easily saved by the left post. Boyce Mathews was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Shayne Cagle showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. Boyce Mathews made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Rodolfo Cordero sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Boys of Riverdrive FC's goalkeeper Boyce Mathews had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Cordero. Boyce Mathews was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Shayne Cagle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Shayne Cagle really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. With an all-out effort, Waterbury Rangers's Boyce Mathews threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Shayne Cagle, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Jude Blankenship scored 6-1 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boyce Mathews, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Boyce Mathews prevented the ball from getting in the gole. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Cordero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Boyce Mathews made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shayne Cagle in the 79th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shayne Cagle in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 84th minute, Shayne Cagle made a precise shot to the right of Boyce Mathews. Boys of Riverdrive FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. Boyd Donnelly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Painter in the 96th minute of the match. Waterbury Rangers made a substitution. Lewis Salas replaced Preston Winston. Dominique Parker hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Waterbury Rangers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
