In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newark Athletic Club's goalkeeper Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 11 minutes, Jesus May mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newark Athletic Club and the El Bobsled players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 played minutes Newark Athletic Club got a freekick which was hit by Jesus May. The audience was convinced that Joaquin Haines's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 15th minute Sidney Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingo Uster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Sidney Schmidt put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Domingo Uster. Mervin Mathis kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Domingo Uster when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. With his leg Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when El Bobsled's Sydney Aldrich fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 34 minutes into the game, Newark Athletic Club's Sidney Schmidt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Domingo Uster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Newark Athletic Club's Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Haines in the 39th minute of play. Sydney Aldrich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez made a huge save. A collision led to Newark Athletic Club getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jesus May hit a great ball. Newark Athletic Club's Sidney Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Domingo Uster had great luck who in the 55thth minute grab hold of the ball when Sidney Schmidt from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Anton Best kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Jacob Enriquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez having to interfere. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Bobsled's goalkeeper Domingo Uster, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Enriquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Yong Palmer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Bobsled's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newark Athletic Club the free kick. Yong Palmer hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Japke Bleiswijk during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo-Luis Rodriguez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antony Mooney charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antony Mooney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of El Bobsled booed when Newark Athletic Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antony Mooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Newark Athletic Club players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented El Bobsled from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
