Arturo Danel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davis Stern having to interfere. White Sands's Davis Stern played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John McCain in the 10th minute of play. Davis Stern made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sol Caballero kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Deshawn Steiner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davis Stern having to make a save. After a rather tough play, White Sands's Sherwood Sorensen got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deshawn Steiner in the 25th minute of play forced White Sands's goalkeeper Davis Stern to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deshawn Steiner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Davis Stern tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Houston Fire F.C. booed when White Sands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo LoDuca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, White Sands's goal looked a bit too open when John McCain came free, but Davis Stern reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rosario Price during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Dexter Ogden made a precise shot to the right of Davis Stern. White Sands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deshawn Steiner in the 36th minute of play forced White Sands's goalkeeper Davis Stern to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the White Sands defense, Dexter Ogden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Davis Stern. The White Sands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Davis Stern should have stopped the shot. White Sands's Sol Caballero got his second yellow card of the match in the 40th minute. The referee ordered Sol Caballero off the ground. Sol Caballero hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, John McCain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Houston Fire F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. John McCain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the match, White Sands's goal looked a bit too open when John McCain came free, but Davis Stern reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The White Sands players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Houston Fire F.C. were winning 0-5.

If John McCain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, John McCain reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Davis Stern. The goal made the score 0-6. White Sands's Davis Stern played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John McCain in the 59th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Houston Fire F.C.'s Deshawn Steiner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Davis Stern made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deshawn Steiner in the 69th minute of play. Javier Olentzaro scored 0-9 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Davis Stern, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, John McCain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Houston Fire F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but John McCain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davis Stern breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Davis Stern didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Deshawn Steiner went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-11 was the resulting score. 83 minutes into the game, Dexter Ogden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-12. Davis Stern was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute, Deshawn Steiner made a precise shot to the right of Davis Stern. White Sands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-13. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arturo Danel got free with Davis Stern in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manuel Morin charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Morin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to White Sands getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Manuel Morin hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Houston Fire F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than White Sands.
