Hal Mackey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lyle Dickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Emmanuel Corley made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Sherman might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johnny Regan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Sherman ran back to his position shaking his head. 58 minutes into the match, Huestes de Excalibur's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Sherman came free, but Johnny Regan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Sherman in the 61st managed to get into a good position. Huestes de Excalibur's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Western Springs FC the free kick. The supporters of Western Springs FC booed when Huestes de Excalibur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignas Mišeikis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emmanuel Corley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 94th minute, Umur Torhan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hal Mackey. The goal made the score 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Huestes de Excalibur left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Western Springs FC.
