The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Kasey Camp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Davis Stern didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thaddeus Simon went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Shawn Hood received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Davis Stern came out and tried to block the shot, but Shawn Hood slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 12th minute. Thaddeus Simon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Davis Stern made a huge save. Anthony Dickinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davis Stern having to interfere. The supporters of West Oahu Wave Riders booed when White Sands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sol Caballero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Greg Henson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wallace Lipscomb's late challenge caught a White Sands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wallace Lipscomb helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, West Oahu Wave Riders's Wallace Lipscomb got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute, Fabian Frank made a precise shot to the right of Davis Stern. White Sands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After having played for 42 minutes, Thaddeus Simon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Oahu Wave Riders's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thaddeus Simon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. West Oahu Wave Riders's Thaddeus Simon was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 45th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Thaddeus Simon took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Davis Stern. Davis Stern dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.
The audience was convinced that Fabian Frank's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Davis Stern was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Shawn Hood managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Oahu Wave Riders's supporters rose to their feet, but Shawn Hood was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davis Stern breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Davis Stern didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabian Frank went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Shawn Hood scored 7-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Davis Stern, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelson Weaver got free with Allan McClellan in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the game, Fabian Frank cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Davis Stern was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 minutes, Fabian Wills mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the West Oahu Wave Riders and the White Sands players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, one of West Oahu Wave Riders:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for West Oahu Wave Riders. Thaddeus Simon took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Davis Stern. Davis Stern dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. A collision led to West Oahu Wave Riders getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Kelly Rasmussen hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, West Oahu Wave Riders's Wallace Lipscomb got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in White Sands's zone, Fabian Frank stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davis Stern came out of the goal and Fabian Frank tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
