Wayne Hills Patriots's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Taylor McMahon in the 21st minute. It was a well-played corner which Marlon Pate managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Taylor McMahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Mario Alvarado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of shenhua's Wilford Mott. Wilford Mott was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wayne Hills Patriots's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taylor McMahon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, shenhua's Xavier Skaggs got a free kick in the 86th minute. The supporters of shenhua booed when Wayne Hills Patriots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dillon Davies didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in shenhua's zone, Mario Alvarado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilford Mott came out of the goal and Mario Alvarado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Wayne Hills Patriots left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than shenhua.
