Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tim Davila kicked off to start the match. Alfredo Hartman hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Derek Cleveland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Freddie Farris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Josiah Phelps managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Erma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josiah Phelps was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddie Farris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Cleveland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the game, Monty Kruse threw the ball into play from the sideline. Erma's Delmar Telo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 12 minutes into the match, Rebel Squids's goal looked a bit too open when Derek Cleveland came free, but Freddie Farris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rebel Squids's Nicky Prescott got a free kick in the 13th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rebel Squids's zone, Derek Cleveland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie Farris came out of the goal and Derek Cleveland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Derek Cleveland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Tim Davila managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rebel Squids's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Davila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chris Beal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Derek Cleveland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Derek Cleveland took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Freddie Farris to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Rebel Squids's Monty Kruse got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 37th minute Derek Cleveland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Farris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicky Prescott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Tim Davila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Beal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derek Cleveland was the one to do the kick off. Nicky Prescott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Erma's Russ Mooney got a free kick in the 59th minute. Chris Beal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Davila, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd match minute, Erma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Winston Hutchison to maneuver through the defense. Chris Beal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Davila in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Erma's Derek Cleveland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Freddie Farris narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Rebel Squids booed when Erma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dwayne Nichols didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 minutes, Tim Davila made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Erma's Chris Beal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute, Tim Davila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Erma were victorious despite being under pressure from Rebel Squids for much of the match.
