After 4 minutes of play, Banfield FI's Staffan Kämpe made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Greg Faulkner was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Staffan Kämpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Banfield FI's Quinton Rivers got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Banfield FI's goal looked a bit too open when Sheldon Bain came free, but Markus Bachman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leif McClellan's late challenge caught a Banfield FI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leif McClellan helped the player get up and apologised. Banfield FI's Elequemedo Vinambres got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Quinton Rivers sped through DOPING POSITIVO F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Greg Faulkner. In the 26th minute Leon Ledochowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Faulkner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Quinton Rivers came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Banfield FI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quinton Rivers couldn't finish the play. 1-4 became the score in the 32nd minute when Sheldon Bain elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Quinton Rivers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quinton Rivers in the 41st minute of play forced DOPING POSITIVO F.C's goalkeeper Greg Faulkner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Julio Fisher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banfield FI's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Fisher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greg Faulkner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matthew Dotson charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matthew Dotson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute Sheldon Bain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Bachman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Banfield FI were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zachary Dumas was the one to do the kick off. Len McAllister received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Greg Faulkner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sheldon Bain in the 56th minute of play forced Banfield FI's goalkeeper Markus Bachman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greg Faulkner was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Quinton Rivers capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Quinton Rivers really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. 61 minutes into the match, DOPING POSITIVO F.C's goalkeeper Greg Faulkner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Ledochowski. Quinton Rivers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Faulkner having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Banfield FI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Staffan Kämpe to maneuver through the defense. When Tristan Oakley fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DOPING POSITIVO F.C's protests and gave Tristan Oakley a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, DOPING POSITIVO F.C's Tristan Oakley got a free kick in the 71st minute. Rubin Carter's late challenge caught a Banfield FI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubin Carter helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes DOPING POSITIVO F.C got a freekick which was hit by Rubin Carter. Markus Bachman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zachary Dumas in the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, DOPING POSITIVO F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Bassett to maneuver through the defense. Staffan Kämpe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Quinton Rivers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Banfield FI played a much better game than DOPING POSITIVO F.C and deserved their victory. The DOPING POSITIVO F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
