Boca Juniors's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Roland Dömötör was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Ernie Dixon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ernie Dixon really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goal looked a bit too open when Ernie Dixon came free, but Roland Dömötör reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roland Dömötör showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyrone Marrero, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the game, Thanos Sapalidis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roland Dömötör. Thanos Sapalidis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Roman Rollins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Connors in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanos Sapalidis in the 42nd minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Roland Dömötör to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Connors might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Rollins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reynaldo Connors ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Arsenal's Casey Rowley got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anthony Barajas to strike the kick off in the second half. Tyrell Lambert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Rollins having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duncan Hendricks in the 54th minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Roland Dömötör to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Ernie Dixon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roland Dömötör was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. If Thanos Sapalidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arsenal's Roland Dömötör played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanos Sapalidis in the 67th minute of play. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. A collision led to Arsenal getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Titus Bland hit a great ball. After 77 played minutes Arsenal got a freekick which was hit by Casey Rowley. In the 78th minute, Vitinho Diniz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Quentin Bullard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Dömötör saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Connors might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Rollins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reynaldo Connors ran back to his position shaking his head. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Cyryl Karpinski replaced Tyrone Marrero. Reynaldo Connors recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Rich Jean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Dömötör saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rich Jean in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Dömötör saved Arsenal from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Jean in the 91st minute of play forced Arsenal's goalkeeper Roland Dömötör to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Jason Stuart.
